About Me

Graphic Designer | Journalism | UI/UX Design

Hi! I am Annalise Vidrine, a strategic communicator in New Orleans, Louisiana. My diverse background in communication, graphic design, and UI/UX design has molded me into a compassionate, enthusiastic, and adept visual designer and communicator.

In March 2024, I completed a 9-month-long certification for UI/UX Design from LSU, while working full-time at Arcsmart LLC in Gonzales, LA as the social media coordinator. I graduated from LSU in May 2023 with a B.A. in mass communication with a concentration in political communication and minors in history and political science.

Throughout my four-year tenure at LSU, I undertook internships in public relations at LSU NCBRT-ACE and the State of Louisiana’s Office of Community Development. Additionally, I worked as a student researcher and teaching assistant for LSU’s Manship School of Mass Communication where I engaged in the most meaningful work of my career thus far.

In 2021 and 2022, I researched and wrote stories for the LSU Cold Case Project class on racially motivated cold case murders in Louisiana. After I took the class for two semesters, I was hired by the Manship School to continue investigating the 1972 Southern University shooting. In November 2022 when the stories were published, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards issued an apology to the families of the two students killed at Southern University in 1972, and even cited our stories as a factor in making the apology. Our efforts were further recognized when our team won the National Investigative Reporters and Editors Award for the student-large division. In addition to the written series, I created the cover art and edited the upcoming podcast series by Drew Hawkins, Bitter Jaguar: The 1972 Southern University Shooting.

Outside of school and work, I channeled my design passion into meaningful causes. I contributed my creative skills to organizations like LSU Feminists in Action, Louisiana Vote By Mail, and Keep Tiger Town Beautiful. In these roles, I managed social media accounts and created eye-catching graphics to educate followers about various issues and events in the community.

With a detail-oriented mindset, empathetic listening skills, and passionate creativity, I am uniquely positioned to create visual designs and communicate effectively with various audiences. I’m guided by values close to my heart – authenticity, equity, and integrity. I’m on the lookout for organizations that share these principles, where I can collaborate with a team and contribute to designs that positively impact society.

Outside of my professional endeavors, I find solace in spending quality time with my dogs—Larry, Penny, and Sully—or immersing myself in the pages of a captivating novel. My journey as a strategic communicator continues, fueled by a passion for creativity, purpose, and a commitment to making a difference.
