In 2021 and 2022, I researched and wrote stories for the LSU Cold Case Project class on racially motivated cold case murders in Louisiana. After I took the class for two semesters, I was hired by the Manship School to continue investigating the 1972 Southern University shooting.

In November 2022 when the stories were published, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards issued an apology to the families of the two students killed at Southern University in 1972, and even cited our stories as a factor in making the apology. Our efforts were further recognized when our team won the National Investigative Reporters and Editors Award for the student-large division. In addition to the written series, I created the cover art and edited the upcoming podcast series by Drew Hawkins, Bitter Jaguar: The 1972 Southern University Shooting.

In April 2024, I began investigating the LALumina plant in my hometown of Gonzales, Louisiana, for neglecting to clean up industrial waste. My story published in August 2024 with the Louisiana Illuminator told the stories of nearby residents and the effects this waste has on their lives, as well as a deep dive into LDEQ regulations over the facility.
